In crypto, you are your own bank. The irreversible nature of blockchain means stolen crypto is almost never recovered.
Exchange custody (Low): Convenient but risky. "Not your keys, not your coins."
Software wallets (Medium): MetaMask, Trust Wallet. Keys on your device. Vulnerable to malware.
Hardware wallets (High): Ledger, Trezor. Keys offline. Gold standard for storage.
Multi-sig (Maximum): Require multiple keys (2-of-3) to approve. Institutional grade.
Phishing: Fake DMs, "you won an airdrop" — no you didn't.
Clipboard hijacking: Malware replaces pasted addresses. Always verify first/last 4 characters.
Fake approvals: Websites requesting unlimited token approvals.
The biggest risk is human error. Stay vigilant, verify everything.
